At Tenuta Adamo, tour the cellar for about 20 minutes, then taste local wines and extra virgin olive oil on a hilltop terrace above the vineyard. English-speaking hosts such as Lisa, Julia, Luisa, and Antonio explain the wines in a friendly shared setting. Breadsticks are included, with optional food platters.

Meet Antonio and the Tenuta Adamo team in the Lucca hills for a 90-minute cellar tour and terrace tasting. You’ll learn how local wines are made, sample four wines with bread, focaccia, and olive oil, and may taste a fifth wine or arrange a paid ride back to Lucca.
“It is a very small winery so the tour itself is very short and there are only 3 rooms. Having said that, our guide was engaging and knowledgeable about the process and the wines. We had 5 wines and the tasting glass was of reasonable size. The wines were also very good: there was none that I actively disliked and in the end I ended up buying a glass to enjoy and another bottle to take with me. For the price you pay it is extremely worth to do this tour.”
From Lucca, guides such as Tommaso, Raffaele, and Marco take you to a small Tuscan winery for vineyard and cellar visits, local wine, and a cold platter of meats and cheeses. Expect about three hours, a 4 pm start, and a maximum of 15 people.
“Our guide was friendly and helpful, however the tour did not meet our expectations. We expected a proper wine farm experience. The property that we were taken to is on the outskirt of Lucca town and is really just a private small holding with a few rows of vines. We paid quite a lot of money for a very mediocre experience.”
Visit Cantina Biagiotti in the hills outside Lucca with host Francesco. Walk through the vineyard, tour the cellar, learn about organic winemaking, then taste several family-made wines with local cheese, meats, bread, and other light-lunch pairings.
